How Amplicity emerged from the SC Ventures and ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific collaboration

SC Ventures and ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific partnered to build sustainability startups across Asia. Amplicity is one of the ventures born from that collaboration - turning idle industrial batteries into distributed grid infrastructure.

SC Ventures - the innovation, ventures and fintech investment arm of Standard Chartered - announced its collaboration with ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific to build and invest in new sustainability startups. The partnership combined SC Ventures' expertise in financial services with ENGIE's leadership in low-carbon energy solutions, targeting Asia's transition to zero-carbon energy systems and the 2050 net-zero commitment.

Amplicity is one of the ventures born from that collaboration. The company was co-founded with the backing of ENGIE, which remains on Amplicity's cap table today, and is now deploying its edge-native battery optimisation platform across Singapore and Australia.

The partnership between SC Ventures and ENGIE Factory Asia-Pacific reflects a broader pattern in the region: financial institutions and energy majors joining forces to accelerate climate-tech ventures with both capital and operational credibility from day one.
